While some of the city’s most loved events have been canceled due to Covid-19, local businesses and organizations have been hard at work creating alternatives for the 2020 holiday season.
Florida winters are one of a kind and definitely worth experiencing. Especially in 2020 considering many of us have been cooped up for months, the last thing we want to do is be stuck inside because it’s too cold outside.
Florida summers may be hot and humid, but during the winter time the humidity fades and the hot heat calms down creating ideal weather. In fact, many evenings cool down to the point of needing a light sweater or jacket. Let’s just say, it might get a little chilly but your teeth won’t chatter because it’s freezing.
Winter Garden business owners and residents alike do a magical job at bringing the Christmas spirit to town each year. From festive events to brightly lit houses, our little city really gets into the spirit.
All of the businesses in the downtown area of Winter Garden do a fantastic job decorating for Christmas. There are different events on special nights throughout the month of December. Don’t miss a thing, grab your calendar and mark the dates for some of the great events mentioned below!

A local favorite! The West Orange Junior Service League will host the 8th Annual WG Christmas Golf Cart Parade on December 13th. The parade begins and ends at Bradford Park and goes right through the downtown area of Winter Garden. If you’d like to register to be in the parade you can get your ticket here.
This parade is just as much fun to be in as it is to watch. There are prizes and other goodies involved when you participate in the parade. Judges will determine the most unique carts, costumes, and lights as winners! And since it’s 2020 and masks are a requirement due to the Orange County emergency orders this year there will also be winners for the most festive masks too! 100% of the money raised will be donated to multiple local not for profit organizations throughout West Orange county.

Time: Judging begins at 5:30 pm
Location: Homes entered into the contest must be within the City Limits of Winter Garden, FL.
The DE-LIGHT-FUL Decorations Contest sweeps across Winter Garden homes, giving residents their time to shine! Christmas lights, blow up lawn characters, fake snow, it’s all perfectly acceptable during this contest. If you are more of a looker, grab yourself some hot cocoa and take a drive around Winter Garden, you’re sure to see some of the festive homes!

Winter Garden Fire Rescue’s annual “Santa Run” is coming to town again this year! Santa and his sleigh visit Winter Garden neighborhoods from 5:45-9:00 pm on select dates. This is a moving parade where Santa along with his firefighter, police, and city helpers spread holiday cheer! Make sure to check out the listed dates above to ensure you and your family are keeping an eye out on the night Santa will be in your neighborhood.
