Crooked River Reserve

Ready to see a glimpse of old Florida? Then you must take a drive out to see Crooked River Reserve. This 1.7-mile trail is one of the last links to Clermont’s early days. Clermont was once known for its abundance of orange groves. It’s now grown into a flourishing town with shopping centers and homes.

Crooked River Reserve is a park in Clermont that still stands strong and full of nature’s wonders.  You can even reserve a canoe, or bring your own, to explore the river first hand. The compact sandy trail is well marked and mostly shady. However, we highly suggest to wear sneakers and bring some bug spray, especially if visiting in summer. The main trail is going to follow the Palatlakaha River to Lake Louisa which is simply beautiful.

Keep an eye out for tall bald Cypress trees by the lake as it is surely a picture worthy spot. This place is great if you are looking for picturesque views while enjoying a hike through nature.

Hours: 8 am to 8 pm

Location: 11121 Lake Louisa Rd, Clermont FL

Victory Pointe

This park is not a typical nature park! At the center of this 10-acre park is a massive stormwater runoff pond that offers a filtration system. It’s built to clean the water before it enters the lake. This 9.5-million-dollar project is referred to as a “game changer” for the town of Clermont. While this may not be the only reason for your visit, the park is home to many recreational elements as well.

Enjoy the informational historical village, a lovely walk around Lake Minneola, the 40-foot look out tower offering amazing views of the area, or the lake itself. Victory Pointe is a well thought out space offering beautiful views whether visiting during the daytime or evening. This is the perfect place for a relaxing walk and to let stress melt away. This park in Clermont is also near Clermont’s historical district. From the park, it is within walking distance. This park is a favorite by locals for its tranquil feel and convenience to the historical district.

This park in Clermont consists of  220-acres. It offers two dog parks (one for larger dogs and one for smaller dogs), a fishing pier, picnic pavilion, restrooms, and a playground. The playground features an old fashion water tower for the kids.

Locals love that Lake Hiawatha is so peaceful and features such beautiful views. There is also a disc golf course here that is for multiple skill levels as well as a paved trail for biking or running. The park is also very well maintained and clean making it a great option to bring your kids, your pet, or just come by yourself.

Bring a lunch and enjoy a picnic in the shade while you are visiting there. This park is perfect for everyone as it has both lovely views of nature while offering lots of recreational amenities.  You could even bring your dog for a walk as many locals simply love taking their furry friends here with them!

Hancock Park

Hancock Recreation Area

Hancock Park is a very busy park as it is home to the Clermont Girls Softball League. The park offers five softball fields, two soccer fields, a tennis court, restrooms, picnic area and playground pavilion. During the season, Hancock Road is packed with cars lined up along the sides of the street.

This is a great park for those who are athletic and looking to hit the field or the court. If you are there while an event is being held, there is even a concession stand! One thing to keep in mind if you plan on going to enjoy the playground and picnic grounds. There is no shade over the playground so depending on the season, it may be a better park to visit in the cooler months or on a cloudy day.
