Windermere Farmers Market

If you find yourself free on a Friday morning anywhere from 9am to 2pm, definitely check out the Windermere Farmers Market. Located on Main Street along Town Square Park, the Windermere Farmers Market is a great place to shop local and support your neighbors. The market is open weekly so it is a great place to stock up on things for around the house.

There all kinds of unique finds at the Windermere Farmers Market. Everything from great gifts for family and friends to weekly produce. With a variety of vendors, featuring homemade soaps and candles, beautiful flowers, fresh bread and pastries, a nice cup of coffee, essential oils, and crafts. There is a variety of booths to browse and things to buy. Don’t miss out on the fresh fruit and vegetables from local farmers and produce vendors as well as fresh seafood and hummus.

Dogs are also welcome at the Windermere Farmers Market. As long as they are leashed and friendly they can come! Hope to see you around the market!

Covid-19 Updates

Due to Covid-19, there are some new rules in place in order to shop. The Windermere Farmers Market requires the use of face masks and asks you social distance of at least 6 feet as much as possible. They also ask you to use hand sanitizer frequently. Do make sure to use their entrance by 6^th Avenue, near the Windermere Library.

Food Truck Night

Windermere Food Truck Nights are always a hit around town with the locals! Save the cooking for another night. Head out and enjoy some home-grown favorites! With options of around 15 to 18 food trucks, there are plenty of options for a wide variety of tastes. Have a picky eater in the family? No problem, we are sure there is something for everyone. Bring some picnic chairs or a large blanket to setup and enjoy a fun and tasty filled evening under the stars.

Orlando Lake Tours

Orlando Lake Tours should be on the top of your list if you have not experienced boating throughout the Butler Chain of Lakes. If you have not done this, then you are missing out! We highly recommend going out on the beautiful and peaceful Butler Chain of Lakes. No boat? No problem! The best way to see the lake is with a knowledgeable local anyways. Especially on your first time out.

The Orlando Lake Tours are home to luxury boat tours that are narrated by resident guides. They will share an earful, and we promise you’ll love all the information! These boat tours are a great way to get outdoors, enjoy nature and fresh air while enjoying the serenity of the water and sights.

Butler Chain of Lakes

The Butler Chain of Lakes covers around 5,000 acres. It made up of 13 lakes that are connected by small canals. Enjoy the ever-beautiful Spanish Moss-covered Cypress Trees which are absolutely gorgeous. The lake is also home to a variety of wildlife. Including blue heron, turtles, raccoons, armadillos, alligators, osprey, snowy egrets, bald eagles, river otters and hawk owls. There is also bird island which is home to a protected bird sanctuary.

The magnificent homes along Lake Butler are truly just that, magnificent.  Estate Tours will take you along the backside of these homes for a glimpse into the life of the rich and famous. You may even spot a celebrity or two!

They can be reached at (407) 883-0110. There are three different tours: daily boat tours, exclusive private charter tours and Butler Chain of Estates tours. Book now as tours are limited! Be sure to bring your camera on board and snap away at all the beautiful scenery you will see on your tour.

Florida Ski School

Leave the shore line behind and get in the water with Florida Ski School. Located on the Butler Chain of Lakes for an immersive experience sure to excite your dare devil side. Frank Desboyaux will be your coach. He is a wealth of knowledge with tips to enjoy a fun filled outing while learning how to water ski!

As a professional athlete in the sport, Frank is THE person to teach you all about water skiing. With beginning lessons, they boast that 100% of their customers are successful after lots of practice. He can also teach you about wakeboarding if  that sparks your interests. All levels are welcome as he can help take your skills to the next level!

Frank has competed all over the world and holds many top titles in the sport. He has been teaching in Windermere since moving here in 2011 and enjoys coaching year-round. Having started himself at the age of 6 years old, he can’t wait to teach you too!

The Art Room

Get your art on with a creative experience at The Art Room. It’s located smack dab in the heart of downtown Windermere. The Art Room is a teaching studio that offers a variety of classes for all ages. From beginner to advance, ALL artists are welcome!

Escape into creativity with one of their weekly classes (6-week session format), workshops, kids’ summer camps, private events, Get Your Art On, or private/semi-private lessons. There are many art styles to choose from too. Options include: oil painting, acrylic painting, water color painting, mosaic art collage, drawing and more!

As one of the leading ski schools in the country, Frank takes great care with safety, both covid-19 safety and water safety. No large groups socializing here, as lessons are on the boat and in the water and limited, if not private.

Covid-19 has put a damper on many events around town. However, we are glad to see businesses are open as long as they follow the mandated restrictions and guidelines. We as locals are so appreciative of the care  businesses are taking with regards to re-opening. With increased safety measures, it is a small step to getting back to the normal we all once knew and enjoying life the best way we can. As always, wear a mask, wash your hands, and social distance. We really are all in this together!

As of now, the town of Windermere, FL has still canceled all town events, such as food truck night. Though Covid-19 has thrown a wrench into much of the planning, the town is working hard to brig them back to life as soon as possible.
