A Little History of Monteverde Academy
With a rich and diverse history, founded in 1912, Monteverde Academy has grown so much over the years. Starting as a small two-room building and church, students with little funds were taught trades. Dorms, including a canning and broom factory, were quickly constructed from rapid success. Students were expected to “earn their keep” by working in these spaces. Eventually, doing away with that as time passed, students now pay tuition and are educated at the highest level here. No more broom sweeping or canning for students! Oh, how times have changed.
