Writer’s Block has been open in the Orlando area since 2014, beginning with a location in Winter Park and now Winter Garden. Their commitment to literacy, reading, and community engagement for life-long learning is showcased through events, book clubs, virtual book fairs, online Sunshine State and children book lists, and community partnerships.
Writer’s Block specializes in new releases, New York Times best-sellers, Indie Next picks, and unique gifts and puzzles. You will no doubt find something for everyone in this fantastic store.

Writer’s Block has four main reasons to shop locally.
- Keep money in the community – When you shop locally, about three times more money stays within the community than if you were to shop in big box bookstores or online. Money that stays in the community supports other businesses and jobs like schools, parks, roads, and essential services.
- Support the community of book lovers – Writer’s Block holds many events for authors each year as well as book clubs and storytime for children.

You are immersed in literature from the moment you walk into The Writer’s Block. The first thing you will see is the section of new releases and staff picks. Staff picks can be super helpful when browsing the store. The helpful staff has read these books and offered their summary and opinions. This helps us make that difficult choice when choosing a new book.

Writer’s Block has something for everyone. From sci-fi and mystery to poetry and cookbooks, you will find something for every taste. They also offer a unique selection of gifts and games, both educational and fun.
You will find a generously stocked kids area in the back of the store.
They have board books for babies and toddlers and Sunshine State Standards books for school-aged children.
Join a Monthly Book Club
Writer’s Block holds monthly book club meetings. Each month, the Club brings members together to discuss featured books by amazing authors.
